Biography

Born in Bcharre, (Lebanon), I graduated in Arabic Literature in 2002 and then in 2005 in Painting, later continuing my studies in Italy, where in 2008 I obtained a Diploma in Art and Painting from the Academy of Arts at Venice. From 2014 until 2019 I worked as professor of Arabic language and translation at the University of Trieste (in Modern Languages for Interpreting and Translation). Currently I’m a professor at the Campus CIELS of Padova (Linguistic Mediation Science), I am also in my third year of study toward a Ph.D in Literary studies at the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia).

As a Lebanese artist and writer living in Italy, I experiment in many creative mediums, including: artist books, painting, video art, performance, and installation using Arabic script in public spaces.  My writings include a variety of works from prose to poetry, including my published recent books “Attraversamenti” (Rocco Carabba, 2023) and “Le chemin des orages” (Harmattan, Paris, Italy, 2021).
I am also the curator and co-founder of the association “Radica” and an online magazine/ blog on art, poetry and philosophy entitled “Ink and stone – Inchiostro e Pietra”.
